This 2015 Self Portrait challenged me in several ways. While I have often drawn my face and do portrait studies constantly, this image gave me the change to approach body positivity as it relates to my own figure, being comfortable with the shapes and space that make up my form from top to bottom. I also got the chance to approach the figure in movement, expression as a narrative device, and digital coloring affects while maintaining my signature style.
Drawn on Bristol, inked with technical pens, scanned in and digitally colored and edited, this piece can be reproduced as an 11 x 17" poster, and allowed me to explore a range of techniques. Plus, it was a hellalotta fun!
This illustration available as a print, and a ridiculously fun phone case, through Society6 now!
